Het Engelse luidsprekermerk Wharfedale heeft een nieuwe tweeweg monitorluidspreker onthuld genaamd Aston. Hoewel het onderdeel is van Wharfedale’s Heritage Series, is de Aston geen heruitgave, maar een geheel nieuw ontwerp met een retro-esthetiek. Geïnspireerd door klassiek Brits luidsprekerontwerp, combineert het traditioneel vakmanschap met moderne akoestische technologie. In tegenstelling tot massamarktaanbiedingen is de productie beperkt tot slechts 500 paar.
De Aston is een kenmerkend model van Peter Comeau, Wharfedale’s Director of Acoustic Design, die ruim veertig jaar ervaring heeft met de ontwikkeling van hoogwaardige luidsprekers. De Aston wordt geproduceerd in het Verenigd Koninkrijk.

The ASTON’s cabinet is constructed from multiple layers of wood, carefully combined to minimize unwanted resonances. Two rear bass reflex ports ensure powerful and precise bass reproduction down to 44 Hz. Despite its compact size, the ASTON impresses with a realistic, holographic soundstage that conveys an impressive presence.

To match its high-quality real wood veneers and elegant gold accents, Wharfedale offers a custom-made ASTON speaker stand. Manufactured in England from hardened, high-carbon British steel, it not only provides a stylish presentation but also ensures optimal speaker positioning. A sophisticated glass inlay adds an extra layer of luxury to the stand – for a perfect aesthetic and sonically perfect combination.
